National Examination??? WHY NOT!!

As we know that the current national examinations still remains as one of the biggest determinants in the graduation of students. Indeed, Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional (Kemendiknas) clarify that the system used is really different from the previous national examination. There is a new determinant of graduation that influences it. Now the students’s graduation is determined by 60% of the student's result of national examination and 40% of rating average of them which is taken from first semester until fifth semester. However students must try hard to get the maximum value in their national examinations. They should make positive strategies in facing of a national examination, so that they are able to pass the national examination well and get a satisfactory grade. There are several tips for students in facing of national examination such as, forming group discussion, reproducing the exercise problem (try out) and following the guidance of special learning subjects national examination.

To face the national examination, students must be smart in organizing their learning schedule. Because the material of lesson of examination covers materials from first grade until third grade. Besides, the level of difficulty of the material is higher than before. The students can study individually or group. Studying in group or forming group discussion is very useful in facing nasional examination. The group discussion will be more effectively applied to face the national examination, because group discussion is useful to discuss the material and the problems. Through discussion, students can exchange information, opinions and experiences from their other friends in a group. The members of the group consists of 5 or 7 persons according to your needs, we recommend that members of the group are friends whom you know so well. If it is possible, group members also not only consist friends from one school, but also from different schools to get the information, opinions and experiences that they exchange much wider. Group discussion conducted approximately one to two times a week, of course, is determined a comfortable place to study. If the subject matter cannot be solved by the group, then the student can ask directly to the teachers of the respective subjects. If the group discussion is run smoothly and regularly in the group discussion, the students will be better prepared for the national exam, because they are used to solving the problems they had discussed in the study group.

Practice makes perfect is an old saying which is very important for students. It is useful in facing the national   examination. Practicing do excercises or trying out is really  important for student. If students regularly practice doing the excercises, the students are getting accustomed to the national examination. Therefore, students need to increase the readings and exercises continuously. They have to work on the problems that they find chalenging or difficult. With frequent practice doing the excercises, students will be more rapid and accustomed to work on the problems that exist. To get the sample exam excersises, students can find in the library, asked some exam excercises from the previous years to the teachers, buy books and build relationships with students in other schools to exchange information or excercises they have. Try out also needs to be conducted, it is very useful to measure the extent to which the student has mastered the competencies. Try out can be done every single week, probably at the end of the month. For the teachers, it can help them to evaluate any material that have not been mastered by students, of course if the student works with full honesty to see the benchmarks of their own abilities. Try out not only from the school but also from certain institutions and even from the government. So, students must be active and initiative to seek try outs for the support they need to adapt themselves to do the examination.

To face the national examination, the students must not only rely on materials provided by teachers during teaching and learning activities in schools or from the books. In this situation, students are required to give more initiatives in seeking the material independently for example, through the guidance of learning (bimbel) or any other courses. Now the Agency is very easy to find, students can choose the best course which is appropriate to take the national examination. Tutoring can also be held by each school. Tutoring by the school, commonly known by an additional hour. Normally such additional hour is held three times a week outside the hours of subjects. In the guidance of learning, students regularly doing and discuss the excercises accordance with the lattice of national examination. Provision of guidance that they can learn this certainly have a significant impact for students who follow the tutorial, they will be more clearly understand the materials that tested in national examination.

It’s clear that students who want to pass the national examination must have special strategies such as, forming group discussion, reproducing the exercise problem (try out) and following the guidance of special learning subjects for national examination. For the first, the students forming group discussion, it is useful for students to review and discuss the subject materials and the excercises that are considered difficult. The members of group consist of 5 until 7 persons and group discussion conducted approximately one to two times a week in the comfortable place to study. Second, reproduce the exercise problem (try out), it is very useful for students and teacher. For students, they will be more rapid and  accustomed to the national examination. For teachers, it can help them to evaluate any materials that have not been mastered by students. Third, the students follow the guidance of special learning subjects national examination to master the materials well to be tested in the national examination.  They can choose the guidance of learning by Agency or tutorial from the school which is commonly known by an additional hour. In the face of the national examination, students should really pay attention to patterns of studying for the best results they want.
